Kids Club: Beyond Diversity

In partnership with the Borderless Relations Committee with support from On Earth Peace, Kids Club seeks to create a community of belonging by empowering kids through reading, discussion, and celebrating differences in cultures. During each session, we will read and explore a different story that encourages kids to share their feelings and experiences, develop empathy towards others, and learn to overcome differences. Learning will continue with activities that celebrate different cultures or explore social issues. Sessions will end with a community art project celebrating diversity. During our February session, we will be reading and discussing "The Day You Begin" by Jacqueline Woodson. Participants do not need to read the book before the program. This program is for grades 3-6 with an adult caregiver.
