The Findlay-Hancock County Public Library welcomes members of the Hancock County OGS (Ohio Genealogical Society) to its annual members-only genealogy lock-in on Friday, April 10 from 5:00-9:00 p.m. at the library. Participants should arrive before 5:00 p.m. and park along Broadway or in the parking lot (the underground parking garage closes at 5:00 p.m.) Staff and volunteers will be available to assist with research, and particpants may bring an optional brown bag supper. Children and teens are welcome to attend if accompanied by an adult.

The Library will host a representative from the Flag City Honor Flight. Flag City Honor Flight is an area hub and part of the National Honor Flight Network. Deb Wickerham, Flight Direct for the organization, will explain what it takes to implement an Honor Flight to Washington D.C. Information will be provided on how to apply to go on a flight and how to become a Guardian. A short video will be used to show what all is included on Flight Day. Flag City Honor Flight will continue to fly one flight a year. This year's flight is scheduled for June 4.
Awakening Minds Art will be providing a step-by-step instructional painting class to individuals at the Findlay-Hancock County Public Library. No experience or skill level is needed for the class. The painting will be on a canvas panel and Awakening Minds Art will provide all art materials needed to complete the activity. The charge for the class has been discounted for you at $5.00 per person for material fees to be paid the night of the class. Registration required. Call 419-422-1712 ext. 245 to register.
