Teen Read Week

On Monday, October 15 teens will Kickoff Teen Read Week by decorating the sidewalks around the Library; Chalk It Up will be held from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm, weather permitting. On Tuesday, October 16, teens are invited to participate in a Read-A-Thon from 6 pm to 8pm, bring a book and enjoy free pizza. Wednesday, October 17 teens will be watching the new Dark Shadows movie featuring Johnny Depp. Teens are encouraged to wear Halloween Costumes. The movie will begin at 5:45 and teens must have a parent permission form on file. Thursday, October 18, Teen Read Week will be celebrated at the Arlington Branch Library with a Zombie making program. Teens will be creating a paper box zombie after school from 3:30 to 4:30.

The following week on October 23 from 7 to 8, teens can make Zombies at the Findlay Library. Teen Read Week will conclude with Haunted Gingerbread Houses and a Halloween movie on October 20 from 12:30 to 4:30. Costumes are again encouraged and registration for this program is required by October 16th.  An additional Halloween themed teen event, presented by University of Findlay Pharmacy students, will be on October 29 from 6 pm to 7 pm. Four Mad Scientists will be invading the Library to teach students in grades 4th to 9th about nutrition and healthy habits. Participants will learn about the sugar in Halloween candy, create an apple treat and a fall smoothie, find out how to read a food label and learn a Halloween “thrilling” dance. Costumes are encouraged but optional.
