There is nothing better than sitting outside in warm weather reading a good book or magazine. Come to the Summer Reading with Zinio and The Ohio Digital Library program for summer inspired reading ideas. This class will provide a refresher on accessing materials on these two resources to send you on your way for a summer full of reading! Bring your mobile device or use a provided laptop.
February is National Haiku writing month, and there will be a Haiku Writing Workshop at the library on Tuesday, February 17 from 3:00-4:30 p.m. Haiku is a short poem that uses imagistic language to convey the essence of an experience with nature or a particular season, which is intuitively linked to the human condition. The workshop will be led by award winning and published Haiku poet Sharon Hammer Baker. The free workshop is open to adults and teens. Participants are asked to bring notebook and pencil.
Volunteen informational meeting. Parents and teens should attend together to get all the information about their summer volunteering, including their schedule.
Are you a R.E.A.D. for L.I.F.E student that would like some extra time on the computer? Come to the open computer lab and experience a relaxed environment where you can work on a variety of computer skills. A library staff member will be available to help you. Helpful handouts will be provided to get you started. Topics include typing skills, resumes, the new GED, e-mail and more. Tutors welcome. Please register in the READ for L.I.F.E. office.
