Master Gardeners: A World Without Birds and Bees

A World Without Birds and Bees. Master Gardener Cheryl Miller will discuss the 4 elements of a wildlife pollinator friendly garden. Pollinators include birds, butterlfies, moths, beetles, insects and bees. Discussion will include plant selection and benefits of native landscaping. Many pollinators are endanger of extinction due to loss of habitat. As native vegetation is replaced by roadways, urbanization, modern farming practices and non-native gardens pollinators lose their food and nesting sites taht are necessary for their survival.

Basket Weaving

A basket weaving class for adults will be held on Feb. 21 at 9:30 a.m. Participants will be making a flat heart shaped basket. Interested patrons need to register at the reference desk and pay the $15.00 material fee when they register. Class size is limited.
