Teens are invited to watch the new release of Hunger Games, Catching Fire. Optional: dress in outrageous Capitol Fashion. A complete set of the 3 Hunger Games books will be given to the person with the most creative outfit. Popcorn and drinks will be provided. Teens must have a parent permission form on file to attend. The form can be found on the library's website on the Teen page or can be picked up at the Children's Service desk.
WGTE, PBS will sponsor a Downton Abbey Tea on Wednesday, April 2 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Celebrate Season IV of Downton Abbey. Be a part of the 1920's with a hat or costume for added fun. Registration required.
Nina Parker from the Black Heritage Library and Multicultural Center will present a program on the Civil Rights Movement. This informative and interesting program compliments the 2014 CommunityREAD title, The Help, by Kathryn Stockett.

Nothing says southern like a fresh slice of peach pie. Dig out your favorite southern pie recipe in the Southern Pie contest. Bring in a pie or come as a judge. All attendees are invited to judge. Three prizes of a copy of The Help by Kathryn Stockett and two tickets to the CommunityREAD feature event on March 28 will be awarded. NOTE: Please call or stop by the reference desk to submit the type of pie you will be entering in the contest. Staff will be able to let you know which types of pies have already been submitted.
